Indigo is a new festival platform combining contemporary currents in art, culture, media, music, film, theatre, design, etc.
It brings together cultural producers from the quarter that includes Križevniška Street, French Revolution Square, Gosposka Street, New Square, Breg and Salendrova Street, the streets and squares that are home to major Slovenian cultural institutions: Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana, Mini Teater, Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Ljubljana Festival, Secondary School for Design and Photography, and National and University Library.
Focusing on the principles of cooperation, accessibility and transitivity, the festival aims at linking cultural and scientific institutes from the quarter with non-governmental organisations and creative individuals. The programme will integrate the rich cultural heritage of this Ljubljana city quarter with cultural creativity and considerations of contemporary currents of participation and intergenerational dialogue.
Fear is omnipresent, yet hope remains. Exploring the topic of No Fear, this year’s Indigo festival is thus dedicated to strategies of overcoming the fear of the unknown based on the current changes in the environment and society.
